    01What you'll learn

The skills to actually ship software.

Start from zero or level up. We focus on building real things, not just watching videos.

    The capstone

    Build for a real cause

You won't just learn in theory. Your capstone is a real project — often for a non-profit — that you design, build and hand over.

    • A real brief, often from a non-profit
    • Ship something people actually use
    • Code-reviewed by a working engineer
    • A portfolio piece that stands out

    05Questions

    Frequently asked.

Straight answers on cost, eligibility, what you need, and mentoring.

    Is it really free?

    +

Yes, completely. Code for Good is our social initiative — there are no fees, ever. All you need is a device and an internet connection, and if that's a barrier, tell us in your application and we'll try to help.

    Who can apply?

    +

Anyone who wants to learn and can't easily access paid coding education — students and youth, career switchers, NGO staff and volunteers, women and underrepresented groups, and absolute beginners. No degree or prior experience required.

Do I need my own laptop and internet?

    +

A laptop and a stable internet connection help a lot, since sessions are mostly online. If that's a barrier for you, mention it in your application — we'll do our best to find a way.

    Is it online or offline?

    +

Primarily online, so anyone across India can join, with the occasional in-person meetup where possible. Group sessions are live and recorded so you can catch up.

What will I be able to do after?

    +

Build and ship real web projects, work with Git the way a team does, and walk away with a portfolio piece — often a real project for a non-profit — plus references to show.

How do I become a mentor?

    +

Use the 'I want to mentor' tab in the form below. A few hours a month is enough — you'll guide a learner, review code, and share your experience.
